A few tips on keeping your seedlings happy in before and shortly after planting…
Watering - seedlings are more prone to too much or too little water than more mature plants. Keeping soil moist but not over wet is important while plants wait to get in the ground. Once you’ve planted your seedlings be sure to give them a deep drink immediately after planting. Continue to water reguarly especially as they’re becoming established.
Hardening off - All the seedlings you’ve purchased from Flywheel are hardened off. They will be able to withstand normal exposure to wind, sun, and temperature fluxuations. If the wind or temperatures are forecasted to be usually for the spring consider providing them protection.
When to plant - Most seedlings I offer can take a light frost and in fact many have been experienced this while hardening off. Plants that should be protected from frost would be hyacinth beans, morning glories, nasturitums, nicotiana, zinnias, basils, lemon verbena, tomatos, and peppers.
